For some reason all I see is SD channels, but I heard that TV tuner is able to get HD programing.
Can you help?

yes you can. The problem is in Media Center Edition for Vista. You will need to update it or wait for Windows 7. W7 edition had new Media Center with HD support for HDX laptops.
