Not only will it save you a lot of money on your electric bill in the long run, but in these times we all need to do our part to help the environment, and with something as simple as choosing a different tv type... it's just irresponsible not to. However, until I saw this, I had no idea... perhaps there should be more information circulated regarding the power consumption of various devices.

Plasma gives out brighter colors which will require more energy. Energy Star 4.0 will go into effect (not sure exactly when, maybe already is as of this writing) this month and it will require that all TVs will use 40% less power than the Energy Star 3.0 required.
I hope that buyer's will also consider the environmental effects whenever buying an appliance. |
